Inspiring Teens’ Future Program

The Inspiring Teens’ Future is intended to provide students with the life skills necessary to succeed academically, socially, professionally and economically.  The program is built on five essential skills: Mindset, Vision Setting, Interpersonal Communications, Leadership, and Financial Management.

In this program, students explore differing social and emotional lessons that allow them to reflect on their lives and their community. In addition, students create a clear and compelling vision for the future. This is done through historical examination of the impact of people with clear goals and those without it. As the students begin to talk about their goals and dreams for the future, they become more excited about school. School is then seen as a vehicle to transport them to their destiny.

Besides having a plan for the future, students develop the skills of effective communication. I facilitate lessons on different aspects of communication such as building a relationship bridge, understanding your personal rules and how to communicate them to others. This allows students to uncover their rules, develop habits of interacting with others and develop a relationship vision statement.

Furthermore, students examine different types and levels of leadership by exploring the concept of leadership without a title. This enables them to understand that leadership is about contribution and making a difference.

Finally, students explore their psychology and emotional relations to money. By reflecting on their upbringing and their relationship to money, students create a financial portfolio that reflects their values and beliefs.
